"Missed Opportunity." Two years ago, global advertising and marketing giant JWT conducted the first significant research into the Muslim market, focusing on Muslims in the US and UK.

 

Ann Mack, JWT's New York-based director of trendspotting, says that what they discovered surprised them. "Here was a global community who said they felt ignored by the big brands. They had money. They simply weren't addressed by the marketing community."

 

"Marketers have apparently sleepwalked past what is possibly the largest and and most wealthy emerging global market. What the marketers lack, says Mack, is an introduction to that community.
